Thylajim
This artwork consists of 4 photographs in Photoshop and about 10 layers in Illustrator. I was trying to create a half-human, half-animal piece that has not been done before, so I searched for a rare animal and came up with a Thylacine, which is a now extinct marsupial native to Australia. It had a dog/kangaroo/tigerlike body and died out in the 1930s. I added myself into the photo as an interesting play in using a self-portrait and also because I felt it would be easier to have a photograph of myself to fit this particular photo. This art piece is very fun and unique to look at but is still lacking a bit in the border area....

Grasshopper's postcards
Grasshopper decided he wanted to take a vacation to an area that boast of relaxation and beautiful scenery: he came to the conclusion that he would travel to Napa Valley!
Below are some very (very) rough drafts of his postcards.

Assignment 1
- I used combined geometric shapes to give the presence of angles as well as a little repetition.
- I chose a yellow background to offset the darker hues of the shapes.
- The yellow background was also chosen to help create negative and positive space.
- The green circle is the focal point but I later realized it leads the eye to nothing.
- Small cuts of patterned prints are used to help draw the eye to different parts of the collage.
